ŌKU

ŌKU draws its essence and its name from Japanese, where it embodies the strength, timelessness, and nobility of the oak. This bed asserts a presence that is both grounded and soothing in a space.

Its design is built on a dialogue between purity and generosity. The frame, defined by a clean, sculptural line, supports a broad and deep headboard, offering natural support for reading, meditation, or rest. Crafted from natural solid oak or stained deep black, it also provides a space to place a lamp or a precious object—transforming the moment of retiring to bed into a personal ritual.

Conceived as a spatial sculpture, the structure can be deployed at the center of the room. The back of the headboard then reveals itself as an open architectural bookcase, elegantly sketching a fluid boundary—a seamless division between the intimate and the shared.

To complete this experience, the ŌKU bed base is a contemporary interpretation of the Japanese art of rest: composed of two tatami mats with controlled firmness, it offers firm, breathable support, ideal for restorative sleep and balanced posture.
